WEB DESK: The Pakistan Cricket Board has received full approval to hold the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League 6 in Abu Dhabi.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that it has received full approval from the UAE government to host the remaining 20 PSL matches in Abu Dhabi.
Sources said that the PSL is expected to be held in Abu Dhabi from June 4, in which most of the international players and coaches will not be available. The meeting between the PCB and the franchise owners is yet to be held in this regard.
In addition, arrangements for the event will be finalized after an online meeting between the PCB and all franchise owners, which will take place today.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Wasim Khan said that all the hurdles in holding the event in Abu Dhabi have been removed and we are very happy and fully prepared for the event.
Wasim Khan said that we are grateful to the Government of the United Arab Emirates, their National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Cricket Board and Abu Dhabi Sports Council for their full cooperation in removing the obstacles in organizing the event.
The PCB Chief Executive further said that all the franchise owners would be consulted for expeditious finalization of matters related to the hosting of the PCB event, the full details of which would be released in due course.
It may be recalled that 34 matches were to be played in PS6 and the first 14 matches have been played in Pakistan. The event was postponed after corona cases surfaced among the players participating in the event.
Once the matter is finalized, the remaining 20 matches, including the final, will be played in Abu Dhabi.
