England Whitewash Pakistan in a Three-match ODI Series

Half of England were bowled out for 165, but for the sixth wicket, James Venus and Lewis Gregory played a responsible innings and played a key role in the team's victory

WEB DESK: England have won the third and final one day international and whitewashed Pakistan in the ODI series.

In the last match of the three-match ODI series, the English team achieved the target of 332 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the 48th over and thus defeated the Green Shirts by 3 wickets to win the series 3-0

Earlier in the match played in Birmingham, English captain Ben Stokes won the toss and invited the Green Shirts to bat first.

Pakistan’s innings

The innings did not start well for Pakistan and opener Fakhr Zaman was dismissed for 6 runs but Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam shared 92 runs for the second wicket.

Imam returned to the pavilion with 56 runs, then wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan stood firm on the crease with captain Babar Azam.

Babar Azam completed the 14th century of his career then Rizwan also scored a half century with the help of 8 fours. Thanks to the brilliant batting of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan scored 331 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan scored 158 and 74 runs respectively for the Green Shirts. For England, Bryden Cars took 5 wickets and Saqib Mahmood took 3 wickets.

England’s innings

In pursuit of the Green Shirts’ 332-run target, the English team’s start was also disappointing and with a total score of 53, two players returned to the pavilion.
